Are you on a green design team? Interested in learning more about the integrated design process? The nonprofit organization, the Green Building Initiative (GBI), is offering Maryland, Virginia, and DC developers, architects, and environmental consultants the opportunity to attend the areas first comprehensive training session on the Green Globes system. Green Globes is the first U.S. web-based environmental design and rating system that fosters integrated design to help achieve high performing, energy efficient buildings. Created by architects and builders for architects and builders, this web-based system walks users through the eight-stage design process while helping you to incorporate green technologies and strategies at each of the logical stages of the process.
Taught by Jiri Skopek, architect, planner, environmental consultant, and owner of ECD Energy and Environment, and Harvey Bryan, Ph.D., professor
of building sciences at Arizona State University, this 5-hour training event will cover the following key sustainable design and building topics: Green Globes(tm) program overview, Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Energy Modeling (using EPA Target Finder based on EnergyStar data), Construction Documents and Verification.
