World Green Building Council E-Newsletter
It is my pleasure to introduce the first World Green Building Council e-newsletter. This move towards electronic distribution is an important element of our efforts to increase our outreach to our members and affiliates. It also provides a seamless interface with our new look website which is updated weekly with new articles and information.
At our last annual congress, hosted in Hyderabad India, the WorldGBC reviewed its strategic focus in the context of the rapid gain in momentum toward green building practices and market mechanisms around the world. The network that has developed through the WorldGBC provides a unique platform for sharing knowledge.
Our members include Councils from both developed and developing nations, our members range in maturity from those that are well established to those in their formative stage of growth. We also have representation from a range of climatic regions and socio-economic backgrounds. There has also been a rapid increase from people interested in forming a Green Building Council (GBC) in their own country as a result of the success of GBC's. In summary, our strategic planning was undertaken with an immense sense of opportunity, but also a critical sense of urgency. ...
