LEED Rating System for Homes
The LEED for Homes program is being developed by the USGBC with input from local and national stakeholder groups. It is a voluntary initiative promoting the transformation of the mainstream home building industry towards more sustainable practices. It will provide a much-needed tool for homebuilders, homeowners, and local governments for building environmentally sound, healthy, and resource-efficient places to live. ...
LEED-H is looking for people with residential expertise in any of the five LEED categories: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources, and/or Indoor Environmental Quality. Qualified individuals will serve as a resource on an as-needed basis to provide input on the draft LEED-H Pilot Rating System. Click here to download an application. ...
Finally! The main problem with getting LEED-H off the ground is the individaul green home programs that have been around for years around the country. There was a good deal of discussion about how a national green building system would interract with the regional ones. Hopefully, this will get ironed out in this process.
